Ballater Community
Hits :2100
Ballater is home to around 1500 residents as well as more than 1000 visitors in the summer. Our village is rich in history and many residents can trace their family history back 100s of years in the Deeside area. Ballater has many residents originally from elsewhere in the UK and around the world. There was once a sign in the Ballater Post Office that said, “I may not have been born in Scotland but I got here as soon as I could!” That is true for many who live here! Ballater is a cherished home to all of us here & whether you are a resident, born & bred; an ‘Incomer’ (or the more politically correct ‘Newcomer’), or one of our many visitors... we hope that you will find the information on this website and the information in it interesting and helpful!

Ballater Films
Hits :548
Ballater Films is a community project initiated in March 2012 with the aim of bringing movies back to the Victoria and Albert Halls, Ballater. Any profits ensure its sustainability. We hold features almost every month in the Mike Sheridan Room, usually on a Friday or Saturday. A range of film genres are represented across the year. Tickets cost £5 per person and children under 10 must be accompanied. Tickets are non-refundable. Cinema snacks are available to buy at reasonable prices before the film starts, including Rizza's ice cream. Local groups and organisations who wish to make use of Ballater Films to host a film night to help boost their own fundraising and have some fun are invited to get in touch.

Ballater Victoria Week
Hits :969
Initiated in 1987 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Queen Victoria's accession and to raise funds for the refurbishment of the Victoria and Albert Halls, Ballater's Victoria Week brings together numerous sections of the community to lay on a host of fun activities for all ages. This year's our Silver Jubilee (and The Queen's Diamond) plus there's The Olympics on, so the challenge is on to make it the best yet!
